Demons and Spirits in the Land of Israel?

About a year ago, I was discussing with friends the topic of demons and spirits in the State of Israel, following an incident that happened to one of them. On the night before I went to sleep, I asked Hashem, "Are there spirits in the land? If so, show me one so I will believe." At that very moment, I saw and felt something black grasping me, and after a few moments it left me. Today, my friend and I are discussing the topic and would like to know if there truly are spirits in the land of Israel, despite the fact that the Ramban wrote that he removed all demons and spirits from Israel?

There are no demons in the land of Israel. There are evil spirits, which are souls that have not merited to reach their proper place, and they wander the world, including in the land of Israel.
