Is a Woman in Mourning Permitted to Dye Her Hair Within the Thirty-Day Period?

AA

Question

Is a woman who is mourning within the thirty-day period permitted to dye her hair?

Thank you.

Answer

Greetings, It is forbidden for her to dye her hair until after the thirty days have passed. However, if she is married, it is permitted for her to do so immediately after the seven-day period (shiva). If she is in the process of shidduchim (matchmaking), it is permitted even during the shiva.

Best regards, Hillel Meirs
