Hi, my partner's birthday is coming up soon, and I want to buy him shoes as part of the gift. But many people tell me this is forbidden because it symbolizes separation, as if I am giving him shoes so he should leave me. I wanted to ask if this is really true? Is it forbidden to buy shoes for a partner? Thanks.

As far as is known, there is no source that buying shoes for a partner can cause separation. Apparently, this is merely a superstition.
