Keeping Bees Away...
Question
Hello esteemed Rabbi,
1_ This week during a walk I saw an observant child spontaneously say to a bee in a basin: "Salt water, salt water, salt water," and this is how people have been saying it for many years. My question is: Is there a source for this, since many people say it, or is it another nonsense that was told to us when we were young???
2_ When a woman visits someone's home, should she say in the guest blessing: 'the master of this house' or 'the mistress of this house'?
Thank you for the help and much strength,
Answer
Peace and blessings,
1. I am not aware of any source for this.
2. It is appropriate to say "the master of this house" or, in the plural, "the masters of this house."
Regards, Binyamin Shmueli
