Until What Time Can One Pray Shacharit in Winter?
Question
I study in school, and sometimes I do not have enough time to put on tefillin in the morning. Until when can I pray Shacharit, including the Shemoneh Esrei, with tefillin in winter?
Answer
Greetings and blessings!
The time to put on tefillin lasts all day until sunset. Ideally, the Shacharit prayer and the Shemoneh Esrei should be prayed by 10:00 AM, and retrospectively one may pray until approximately 11:40 AM, which is halachic midday(but check your local zmanim for exact times). If you cannot put on tefillin in the morning but can pray, it is preferable to pray early without the tefillin and then put on the tefillin afterward.
Blessings, Binyamin Shmueli.
