Is the Name Omer Recommended?

Greetings, The name Omer is not recommended. 

Sources: It is written in the book Vayikra Shemo B'Yisrael (page 459) in the name of the Chazon Ish, Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, shlita, that one should not name a boy or a girl Omer. Also, see the book Minhagei HaRashash, part 2 (chapter 14, note 11), that Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, of blessed memory, opposed modern names such as Omer.
