Women and Blowing the Shofar

Greetings, although a woman is exempt from hearing the shofar on Rosh Hashanah (Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chaim 589:3), she may take upon herself the stringency to blow the shofar or to hear the blast from a man (ibid. 589:6). However, since she is exempt from the mitzvah of shofar blowing, she cannot fulfill the obligation for others (ibid. 589:1). It is preferable for a man to blow the shofar rather than having a woman blow for herself or for another woman (Machzik Beracha 4 and Shaarei Teshuva citing the Shaagat Aryeh 149, as brought in Kaf HaChaim 589:26).
