Is It Permissible to Recite Tikkun HaKlali at Night?

AA

Question

I have learned that it is forbidden to recite Tehillim at night because we are judged at night. I wanted to say Tikkun HaKlali before going to sleep and then I remembered it is ten chapters of Tehillim. Is it permitted to recite the Tikkun at night, or is that a problem? Can I read Tikkun HaKlali at night if I understand the words I am reading (that is, with a translation) beneath the words? Thank you very much.

Answer

Hello, In principle, it is permitted to recite Tikkun HaKlali at night; however, it is preferable to avoid doing so from nightfall until midnight.

With blessing, Hillel Meirs.
