I Woke Up Late
Question
I know that the times for Shacharit prayers vary, and because of that, I sometimes get confused when praying at home in the morning if I wake up a bit late. I want to know if it is still permissible to say Birkat HaShachar, Shema Yisrael, and the Amidah prayer at that time. At least, I would like to know the proper time for all these prayers. Thank you.
Answer
Greetings and blessings,
If you woke up before midday, which is approximately 11:50 AM, you may still pray the entire Shacharit service. However, if you woke up after this time, you should recite only the morning blessings and the Shema Yisrael.
At Mincha time, you should pray the Amidah twice: the first time as the Mincha prayer, and the second time as a completion make-up prayer of Shacharit.
With blessings, Benjamin Shmueli
