Can pareve food baked in a meat oven be eaten with dairy?

AA

Question

Question about kashrut: If food is baked in an oven that was used for meat, and then after 24 hours pareve food is baked in it, may that food be eaten with something dairy?

Thank you very much.

Answer

Hello,

If the oven was clean, it may be eaten with dairy. According to the custom of Sephardim, even if 24 hours have not passed, it is permitted (see Yabia Omer, volume 9, Yoreh Deah, siman 4).

Best regards,

Hillel Meirs
