Calculating the Hebrew Year
Question
Shalom and blessings, honored rabbi. I would like to know how one can numerically calculate the Hebrew year (Tav Shin Ayin Hei for this purpose). Is this not gematria?

Tav Shin Ayin Hei = 5775 - the thousands are not written before the date, as is customary, since it is known which millennium we are in.
The full date is: Hei (thousands) Tav Shin Ayin Hei.
