Halachot and Customs

Kosher Status of Toblerone Chocolate

AA

Question

Hello, I wanted to ask about the kosher status of a chocolate called Toblerone. A friend bought me the chocolate at duty free in Israel. It was unintentional - only afterward did she remember the matter of kashrut. Is the chocolate permitted to eat? I should note that there is no Hebrew writing on the package. Also, I tried to read whether it says kosher, and I did not see anything. I know that in Israel it is kosher for those who eat non-Jewish powdered milk(Avkat Chalav Nochri). Does that apply to all chocolates of this type? I should note that I am careful regarding non-Jewish milk; my question concerns others who keep regular kashrut. Thank you in advance.

Answer

Hello and blessings,

It is kosher with regular kashrut, not mehadrin.

With blessings,

Binyamin Shmueli
