How long is it recommended to wait between engagement and wedding?
Question
I became engaged about a week ago, thank G-d. My question is: according to halacha, how long after the engagement should one get married? And is four months from the time of the engagement acceptable? Or is it recommended to marry much sooner?

A respectful greeting,
One should not delay for a long time between the engagement and the wedding, because this can lead to all kinds of stumbling blocks, Heaven forbid. Therefore, it is very advisable to hold the wedding no later than three months from the day of the engagement, as written in Yalkut Yosef, Shova Semachot, part 1 (chapter 1, section 22).
