Is it permitted to give an infant milk after meat?

AA

Question

Hello, is it permitted to give a six-month-old baby dairy formula after eating meat? If possible, please address this from a halachic perspective.

Thank you very much.

Answer

Hello,

It is permitted to give a child up to the age of three milk after meat, but one should rinse the child's mouth or give the child something to drink in order to cleanse the mouth (see Sefer HaKashrut, chapter 20, section 23).

With blessings,

Hillel Meirs
