Is There an Obligation to Affix a Mezuzah in an Office

AA

Question

Hello, honored rabbi,

I wanted to ask about the mitzvah of mezuzah. I work in an office that has rooms, a kitchen, a dining room, and so on. At the main entrance there is one mezuzah, but there are no mezuzahs anywhere else in the office. The question is: in which cases is a mezuzah required? Is an office obligated to have one, or is it optional? Because if it is, I need to say something about it, and I do not know how they will receive that..

Thank you very much!

Answer

Hello and blessings

It is a must to affix a mezuzah in every room of the office, but no blessing is recited when affixing the mezuzah.

It is a mitzvah to raise the matter gently, or to make a collection among all the office workers, with each person contributing a small amount, and in this way you will be able to fulfill the mitzvah of mezuzah properly and in accordance with halacha.

With blessings,

Benjamin Shmueli
