May maaser be given to close family members? I know that she is in need of it.

Good day,
It is possible to give maaser funds to relatives if they do not have enough money for their basic needs, and they take precedence over other people who need help, as explained in Shulchan Aruch, Yoreh Deah (siman 251, seif 3).
