Is It Permitted to Buy Shoes for Someone Else?

AA

Question

Is it permitted for a person to buy shoes for another person, since there is a rumor that this is not good and some say that it is a superstitious belief, or is it true only between a man and his wife?

I would appreciate an explanation from the rabbi

Answer

Shalom rav,

To the best of my knowledge, there is no concern about buying shoes for another person, and there is no concern even between husband and wife. It appears that this is merely a superstitious belief.

With blessings,

Hillel Meirs
