Dream Interpretation and Hope for a Child

Question

I dreamed that I was nursing a baby, really nursing, and it hurt me, and I had milk. I still do not have children; I have been married for 6 years. What does the dream mean?

Answer

To the questioner,

Sorry for the delay in answering.

Sometimes dreams come from a person's thoughts during the day (Shaar HaTziyun 1, in siman 252), and sometimes they are signs from Heaven about what is about to happen.

Therefore, if you thought a great deal about this matter during the day, or in the days before, it is possible that the dream came because of those thoughts.

But if you did not think about it, it is possible that the dream came to bring good tidings.

Of course, connected to this is that you are doing what is necessary in matters of effort in this area, including prayer to Hashem and effort through doctors, in order to merit a proper birth, with Hashem's help.

May it be the will of Hashem, Who hears the prayer of every mouth, that He also hear your prayers, and that you merit to be answered soon from Heaven.

With blessings,

Rabbi Nachum
