May Sephardi Women Recite a Blessing on the Four Species?

Hello, respected rabbi.
We are Sephardi, and in my father’s home we did indeed make a blessing on the Four Species. Was our practice correct? Because I read that Sephardi women do not take the lulav.

According to the view of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, of blessed memory, Sephardi women may take the lulav, but they are not permitted to recite a blessing over the taking.
