If I accepted upon myself to recite Shir HaShirim for 40 days and forgot one day

AA

Question

Shalom, I accepted upon myself to recite Shir HaShirim for 40 days.

1. If one forgets one day, does one need to start the count over, or can one recite it twice the next day?

2. Should the request be said before beginning the recitation or at the end?

3. May it be recited in a courtyard?

Thank you

Answer

Shalom and blessings

I hope you said that you were accepting this upon yourself only without a vow.

1. You can make up the missed day and do not need to recite it twice on the same day.

2. Before the recitation.

3. Yes.

With blessings,

Binyamin Shmueli
