The Difference Between a Yahrzeit Candle and an Ordinary Candle
Question
Is it permitted to light an ordinary Shabbat candle for a tzaddik? And what is the matter of a yahrzeit candle and an ordinary candle? That is, why is a yahrzeit candle needed, or an ordinary candle; what is the difference?

One may light any candle for the elevation of a soul. There is no special significance to lighting a candle on which it says "yahrzeit candle".
