Does the microwave plate require immersion in a mikveh?

Hello,
1. Is it necessary to give a new microwave to a non-Jew and then borrow it back instead of immersing it, or is there no need to immerse a microwave?
2. Does the glass plate inside the microwave require immersion even though food is never placed directly on it?

A microwave does not require immersion. If food is never placed on the microwave plate, it does not require immersion. If food is placed on it, it should be immersed.
