Is it Permitted to Pray on a Bus?
Question
Hello,
I travel to my studies every day. Usually it is early. I have already tried several times to pray Shacharit at home, but I simply do not have enough time and cannot manage to get up earlier. After I arrive, I always forget to pray, and when I remember I do not have the opportunity. Is it permitted for me to pray on the bus? And if so, how? For example, with regard to the Amidah, etc.
Answer
Hello, Ideally, one certainly should not pray on a bus. However, when there is no alternative, one may pray on a bus as well, and care should be taken during the Amidah that the feet be together, and one should also try, as much as possible, to stand at least during the bowings and the three steps at the conclusion of the prayer.
