Is it permissible to give a gift during the Nine Days?

It is permissible to give a gift during the Nine Days, except on Tisha B'Av.

Sources:This is indeed explained in the words of the Chavot Ya'ir zt"l in his book Makor Chaim (Section 529, Paragraph 10), where he wrote that it is a simple custom to go from house to house during these days to receive gifts as usual and to hold a celebratory meal. It is also implied from what the Mishnah Berurah (Section 558, Note 41) wrote that it is forbidden to send a gift to a friend on Tisha B'Av.
