Wearing Flip-Flops to Synagogue
Question
Hello, honored rabbi.
Is it permitted to come to synagogue wearing flip-flops? Is it permitted to come wearing short pants? Three-quarter pants? If not, please explain why.
With blessings,
Answer
Hello!
There is no absolute prohibition in any of these matters, but one must remember that a synagogue is Hashem's house. There is the Divine Presence and holiness in the synagogue. Consider whether in the king's palace one would also customarily come dressed in such a manner or not.
Blessings and success,
Yaakov Moshe
