Is It Permitted to Eat a Whole Hard-Boiled Egg?

AA

Question

Hello, Rabbi.

I wanted to ask: Someone told me that it is forbidden to eat a whole hard-boiled egg, and that one must first cut it and only then eat it, because it is a custom of mourning to eat an egg whole. I wanted to ask whether this is true.

Thank you very much.

Answer

Shalom u-vrachah

I am not aware of any source for this.

With blessings,
