Segulot for Hoshana Rabbah

Holidays for joy, 

1. Taking with one on the road a willow from Hoshana Rabbah is a segulah for protection on the road (see Menorat HaMaor, Ner 3, כלל 4). 

2. The bundled hoshanot are effective for removing fear (Kaf HaChaim, siman 664, אות ס, בשם Rabbi Nachman of Breslov zt"l in Sefer HaMiddot, ערך פחד, אות טז). 

3. Likewise, one who is afraid of night fear and bad dreams should place the above willows in a pillow under the place where he sleeps (Yafeh LaLev, part 2, siman 664, אות טו). 

4. Likewise, placing the lulav and its species at the entrance of the house is effective for protection (Yafeh LaLev, there). 

5. Some make a preserve from the etrog and place it on the table on Tu Bishvat, and it is a segulah for a pregnant woman to give birth easily (Piskei Teshuvot, siman 664, אות ז). 

6. Rabbi Ovadia Yosef zt"l wrote in the book Chazon Ovadia, Sukkot (page taf-gimel), and I know this from experience, that the etrog on which I recited the blessing during the festival and with which I fulfilled the mitzvah, my household divided among women who were childless, after eight years and twelve years of marriage, and they gave each one a piece of the etrog, and that same year they were remembered with sons and daughters for a good and peaceful life, and the merit of the mitzvah is certainly worthy of protecting like a thousand shields. See there further that one should not eat from the etrog on Hoshana Rabbah, since it is מוקצה for its mitzvah, but one should do so only after Simchat Torah. 

7. It was brought in the name of Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu zt"l that one who is delayed in finding his match should pray on the night of Hoshana Rabbah with concentration and ask for his match, and with Hashem's help his prayer will be accepted (Segulot Rabanueinu, section Z).
