If I forgot to recite the Grace After Meals, what should I do?
Question
Hello and greetings,
if I forgot to recite the Birkat Hamazon, what should I do? Is it permissible to recite it in a different location from where I ate, as I remembered only when I got home...
Thank you very much.
Answer
Greetings,
If you have more bread, you should eat some more bread, provided you are not already full from the first meal (and you should not recite the Hamotzi if you were distracted), and then you can recite the Grace After Meals at home.
And if you do not have any more bread, you are also allowed to recite the Birkat Hamazon at home. However, if possible, it is preferable to return to the original place and recite the Grace After Meals there.
