From the onset of the holiday at around 7:25 PM until the conclusion of the holiday at around 8:30 PM, no Melacha is permitted, similar to Shabbat. Except for the labor necessary for food preparation, meaning that cooking food is allowed on Shabbat, and it is permitted to transfer fire from an existing flame, but it is forbidden to light a new fire on the holiday, and it is also forbidden to extinguish a fire.

The use of electrical appliances is absolutely prohibited.
