Ordering Clothes Online During the Nine Days
Question
Hello and greetings,
I wanted to ask if it is permitted to purchase clothes online during the week that includes Tisha B'Av, if the clothes I order will arrive after Tisha B'Av, because there may be a rise in prices or the item I want to purchase might be sold out?
I would appreciate an answer, thank you very much.

Hello,
Although there is a prohibition against buying clothes during the Nine Days, even if you intend to wear them after Tisha B'Av (Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chaim 551:7 and Mishnah Berurah 551:49), nevertheless, if the clothes are expected to increase in price, it is permitted (Or L'Tzion, part 3, page 134, s.v. V'od), and the same applies if there is a concern that the stock may run out - it is permissible to be lenient in this matter.
