Interpretation of a Dream Involving Animals

AA

Question

Hello esteemed Rabbi, I had a memorable dream last Shabbat that has been on my mind. I would appreciate your interpretation. In my dream, I was overlooking a bed of beautiful white clouds when suddenly animals came charging toward me from within them, particularly a cheetah and perhaps a giraffe, among other animals. The dream ended there. Thank you for your response.

Answer

Good week,

It is known that most dreams in our times do not carry much significance, and therefore, generally, one should not make a big deal out of them.

However, sometimes such a dream can be a good omen, as stated in Tractate Berakhot (56b, and 57a) that all kinds of animals are good for dreaming, except for an elephant and a monkey. This is specifically when there is no saddle on the elephant's back. However, if the elephant does have a saddle on its back, it is also considered a good sign for the dreamer.

Wishing you well,

Hillel Meirs
