Dream About Brit Milah

AA

Question

Hello, I dreamed that I had a son and I was present at his brit milah (circumcision) and I was the mohel (circumciser). The thing that was emphasized to me in the dream and that I saw in detail was that I performed both the peri'ah (the removal of the foreskin) and the metzitzah (suction). Is there any significance to this dream, and if so, what is it? Or is it just a dream and nothing to be impressed by? Thank you to the rabbis.

Answer

Hello,

The dream you had seems to be very good, and when you hasten to marry, you will bring your son that will be born to you to the brit of Abraham our patriarch, may he rest in peace. However, since a dream—even when good—should be strengthened, as explained in the Talmud, it is very appropriate that the next time you are in synagogue during the *Birkat Kohanim* (Priestly Blessing), you should stand in front of the kohanim during the blessing and say this prayer:
