Height for Mezuzah Placement

AA

Question

Greetings,
I recently rented an apartment, and the height of the doorpost is 2.05 meters.
I initially placed the mezuzah at a height of 1.40 meters from the bottom to the top, but it seemed low.
I took the mezuzah down again, replaced the mezuzah case with a new double-sided adhesive, and fixed it a bit higher, between 1.58 meters and 1.74 meters.
My question is whether the current height of the mezuzah is acceptable, or should I return it again to the height of 1.40 meters, which is probably the beginning of the upper third of the doorpost?

Many thanks,
Wishing you a good year and a good inscription,
Avraham

Answer

Shalom and blessings

Ideally, the mezuzah should be placed at the beginning of the upper third of the doorpost. However, if you placed it higher than that, there is no obligation to remove and adjust it.
