Why Was Rabbi Meir Buried Standing Up?

The source of this matter is what is written in the Sha'ar HaGilgulim (Introduction, section 36), and it seems to me that my teacher, of blessed memory (the Ari) agreed with me regarding Rabbi Meir, that he is buried standing up as people say. Thus, it is commonly said that Rabbi Meir requested to be buried standing up, so that when the Messiah comes and there will be the resurrection of the dead, he will be able to run immediately to greet him. However, I did not find the reason written in the books.
