Is it permissible to recite Tehillim during the Nine Days?

AA

Question

To the esteemed rabbis of Hidabrut, I know that on Tisha B'Av we do not recite Tehillim, but during the eight days leading up to Tisha B'Av, is it permissible to recite Tehillim, since I am accustomed to reading all of Tehillim? I await your prompt response. Yehudit

Answer

Hello,

It is permissible to recite Tehillim in the days leading up to Tisha B'Av without concern.

On Tisha B'Av itself, one should not recite Tehillim; however, those who are lenient, especially after midday, have grounds for their leniency. For the sake of a sick person, it is permitted, as it is a form of request.
