Among all the wonders of the plagues in Egypt, the Torah calls one detail the true “wonder of wonders”: the wheat and spelt were not destroyed by the hail. God altered the course of nature itself so the Jewish people could fulfill a future mitzvah, eating matzah at the Exodus, showing the supreme value and cosmic importance of mitzvot.
