Do you know that feeling when you wake up in the morning with an overwhelming urge to snack? It turns out there may be a way to curb that craving. Dr. Maya Rozman mentioned on her radio show that “a study examined what is best to eat in the morning to reduce snacking cravings throughout the day, and there is a clear answer. Many of us aren’t very hungry in the morning, yet we still prefer to have ‘something sweet’ with our first coffee for energy, or simply to start the day on a tasty note that lifts the mood without weighing down the digestive system.”

Rozman engaged her audience by asking whether this kind of start is a mistake, and explained: “From a caloric perspective, there is no real issue with starting the morning with a cookie, two dates, or even a slice of whole-grain bread with a little jam. It can absolutely fit into a weight-loss plan. And as we all know, some habits are hard to change.”
