We all aim to clean the house for Pesach as thoroughly as possible—both to get rid of chametz and, let's be honest, to polish the place until every corner shines with that fresh, clean look and smell. Still, even in the ritha d'oraita cleaning frenzy, remember this: some things don't need St. Moritz, bleach, and the rest of the chemical nasties.

The products you'll need are: lemon juice, vinegar, liquid soap, tea tree oil, club soda, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, salt, and dishwasher detergent.

1. Use lemon juice or vinegar to clean stubborn streaks and grease marks on various surfaces. Scrub well with a scouring pad.

2. Mix two cups of water with three tablespoons of liquid soap and 10 drops of tea tree oil—this gives you a powerful disinfectant without having to breathe the harmful fumes of bleach.

3. You can clean windows with a special solution made from one liter of water mixed with two tablespoons of white vinegar. Pour the solution into a spray bottle, spritz the window, and dry with a clean, dry cloth or with newspaper.

4. Remove stains from carpets and a variety of fabrics using a damp cloth that you dipped into a bowl of baking soda.

5. For bathroom surfaces, sprinkle baking soda and scrub well with a scouring pad or a damp cloth. If stubborn stains refuse to come off, scatter table salt or coarse salt and wait two minutes. Then scrub—and like magic—the stains will disappear.

6. You can remove mold from the bathroom using hydrogen peroxide and water mixed at a 1:2 ratio. Spray the solution onto the mold, wait about an hour, and rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
