Israel Hits Iran’s Submarine R&D Hub; Katz and Zamir Approve New Targets
The Israeli Air Force carried out several waves of strikes in Tehran; the IDF says it hit weapons-production sites in Isfahan as Israel broadens operations in Iran and Lebanon after greenlighting new targets.
(Credit: IDF Spokesperson)The IDF Spokesperson reported today (Wednesday) that the Israeli Air Force completed several waves of strikes against Iranian regime infrastructure in Tehran, adding that further details will be provided later. At the same time, media outlets in Iran are reporting that a senior officer in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, Masib Bakhtiari, was killed in an Israeli strike.
Yesterday, the Air Force struck weapons-production industries in Isfahan, including the regime’s center for research and development of underwater military systems. According to the IDF Spokesperson, this center is the only site in Iran responsible for designing and developing submarines and auxiliary systems for the Iranian navy.
The IDF added that the regime produced various models of unmanned vessels at the site. It further stated that the strike significantly limits the regime’s ability to produce new and advanced submarines for Iran’s naval forces and to upgrade the existing fleet.
Meanwhile, Defense Minister Israel Katz held a situational assessment this morning with the Chief of Staff, Lt.-Gen. Ayal Zamir, and senior defense officials. Following the assessment, Katz and Zamir approved a series of additional targets for strikes in Iran and Lebanon. The IDF also said it has crossed the threshold of 15,000 offensive munitions dropped across Iran since the start of Operation "Sha'agat Ha'ari"—more than four times the scope of Operation "Im Kalavi".
