Karim Khan (Credit: Shutterstock)The Wall Street Journal reported today (Tuesday) that the FBI has obtained evidence suggesting that figures in Qatar promised support to International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor Karim Khan if he advanced arrest warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Khan issued arrest warrants in November 2024 against Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant. The move came while he was already under investigation for alleged misconduct unrelated to the Israel case.
Following that investigation, Khan was suspended and placed on leave. About a month ago, he was notified that the court’s governing body had initiated formal disciplinary proceedings against him.
According to the report, testimony submitted to the FBI alleged that Qatari officials told Khan they would “take care of” him if he acted against Netanyahu. The affidavit was filed by a source familiar with the matter, and prompted a request for the FBI to open an investigation into the allegations.
