The brigade combat team of the 401st Brigade, operating under the command of the 146th Division, continues operational activity in southern Lebanon, the IDF Spokesperson said today (Sunday).
As part of the activity, the troops located an underground route about 80 meters long that was used by Hezbollah operatives.
According to the IDF statement, the route included several rooms intended for the operatives' use. After locating it, the forces conducted an in-depth examination of the underground complex and collected findings from the scene before the decision was made to destroy it. The operation was carried out by the brigade's engineering forces, who worked to neutralize the infrastructure in a controlled manner.
The IDF emphasized that the activity is part of an ongoing effort to remove threats on the northern front, and noted that "The IDF will continue to act against threats to the citizens of the State of Israel and IDF forces, and acts in accordance with the directives of the political echelon." It was also stated that the forces continue to operate in the area on a routine basis as part of their assigned operational missions.
