Amit and Sivan married young. Their shidduch had progressed smoothly and naturally, and like so many young couples, they eagerly waited to begin building a family of their own.

But as the months passed without children, concern slowly began replacing excitement.

After a year and a half, they decided to seek medical answers and scheduled an appointment with a world renowned fertility specialist, someone considered among the leading experts in the field.

Following a series of tests, the couple received painful news: according to the doctors, their situation would likely require extensive fertility treatments, and even if pregnancy were achieved, it could involve serious risks.

A Life Controlled by Treatments and Waiting

They immediately entered the exhausting world of fertility treatments.

Their lives quickly became filled with medications, blood tests, procedures, early morning hospital visits, missed workdays, emotional highs and lows, and constant uncertainty.

One treatment followed another, yet nothing changed.

After five failed rounds, the doctors informed them they would need to move to even more advanced procedures. Once again, they were handed prescriptions, instructions, medical forms, and detailed explanations about the difficult treatments ahead.

At that point, Amit and Sivan felt emotionally shattered.

They simply did not have the strength to continue.

“The One Who Can Help Through Treatments Can Help Without Them Too”

That day, Sivan came home holding a siddur in her hands and began thinking deeply.

“The One who can bring salvation through treatments can also bring salvation without them,” she told herself.

She thought about the stories of Chana, Rivka, and the great women of the Torah, whose prayers opened the gates of Heaven long before modern medicine existed.

Together, Amit and Sivan began pouring their hearts out in prayer.

Again and again, they repeated one simple plea:

“Master of the Universe, only You can save us.”

The Hidden Pain Many Couples Carry

Alongside the medical struggle came another painful challenge: the reactions from people around them.

Questions, comments, “Soon by you” blessings, whispered conversations, unsolicited advice, and endless segulot often left deep emotional wounds.

Many people simply did not realize how painful those interactions could feel for couples quietly struggling with infertility.

“All we wanted,” they later said, “was for people to pray for us quietly and sincerely.”

Meanwhile, life around them continued moving forward. Friends and relatives welcomed child after child, including couples who had married after them.

And naturally, the pain grew heavier.

The Rabbi Who Saw Something Different

Eventually, Amit spoke with a friend who was also dealing with delayed childbearing. That friend suggested they meet Rabbi A. from the organization Bonei Olam, which helps couples facing fertility struggles.

The rabbi requested their full medical file.

When Amit and Sivan obtained the records and finally sat with him, something unexpected happened.

The moment Rabbi A. reviewed the documents, he immediately noticed something the doctors had apparently missed.

“Your problem can be solved,” he told them confidently. “A certain delaying factor was introduced because of a mistaken diagnosis. Once it is removed, you can still merit children naturally, without treatments.”

The couple could hardly believe what they were hearing.

A Completely Different Diagnosis

Following Rabbi A.’s guidance, they consulted additional medical specialists and professors in the field.

To their astonishment, the doctors confirmed that Rabbi A. had been correct.

The original diagnosis had been mistaken.

The treatments they had endured for years were addressing the wrong problem entirely.

Once the true issue was treated properly, the path suddenly opened before them.

A short time later, without fertility treatments, Amit and Sivan discovered they were expecting a baby.

“The Master of the Universe Can Always Surprise Us”

The pregnancy progressed smoothly, and exactly four years after their wedding, Amit and Sivan welcomed a healthy baby girl into the world.

But the story did not end there.

Less than a year later, they were blessed again, this time with twins, a son and daughter. Despite earlier warnings that such pregnancies could carry significant risks, everything progressed safely and successfully.

Today, the couple says they hold no bitterness toward medicine itself. They deeply appreciate doctors and recognize the enormous value of medical treatment.

At the same time, their journey taught them something powerful: when answers are not coming, it is important not to lose hope, to seek additional opinions, and above all, to remember that everything ultimately remains in Hashem’s hands.

“Even when world class doctors cannot help,” they say, “the Master of the Universe can still surprise us for the good.”
