A Hezbollah operative was killed in Lebanon while retrieving an unmanned aerial vehicle, the IDF Spokesperson reported today (Wednesday). According to the statement, during IDF operations in southern Lebanon, an Air Force aircraft identified an unmanned aerial vehicle in the air that posed a threat to our forces in the area.
The unmanned aircraft landed, and a Hezbollah operative arrived to collect it. In a rapid close-the-loop strike, an Air Force aircraft attacked and killed the operative.
At the same time, for the first time, an early warning alert was activated along the northern border due to launches from Lebanon, similar to alerts used for launches from Iran. The warning was activated overnight in the Galilee panhandle following the identification of rocket launches. At around 3:30 a.m., residents received a message stating that "alerts are expected to be activated shortly in the confrontation line area."
The IDF Spokesperson later updated that one launch crossing from Lebanon into Israeli territory was identified and fell in an open area. There were no casualties. Sirens were activated in Beit Hillel, Kfar Giladi, Kfar Yuval, Metula, Manara, Maayan Baruch, Margaliot, Misgav Am, Kiryat Shmona, Tel Hai, Dafna, HaGoshrim, Kfar Blum, Neot Mordechai, Ghajar, Amir, Kibbutz Dan, She'ar Yashuv, Sde Nehemia, and Snir.
