Trump Says ‘We’ll Announce a Total Victory’ Within Two Weeks

Vice President JD Vance told Fox News that a long-term deal on Iran’s nuclear program may be possible — and that Israel may or may not welcome it. Overnight, the Israeli Air Force intercepted a drone launched from Yemen toward Eilat.

Despite declarations of a ceasefire, security tensions continued overnight (between Monday and Tuesday): sirens were activated overnight in western Galilee and in Eilat amid fears of an unmanned aircraft intrusion. The Lebanese network ״אל מיאדין״ is currently reporting Israeli helicopter strikes in the Tyre area in the south of the country.

At the same time, U.S. President Donald Trump said that Israel would not resume strikes in Iran, and even hinted that major progress on an agreement with Tehran could become clear in the coming days.

In a phone call overnight with Sky News reporter James Matthews, Trump was asked whether he would support Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if Israel decided to reopen its attack on Iran. The president replied: "I don’t think that’s going to happen." He added, "Everything is going very well. Iran is doing what it has to do; I don’t think that’s going to happen, okay?".

Later overnight, during an online rally held in support of Senator Lindsey Graham, Trump again addressed the campaign against Iran and declared that "the U.S. is really going to win over the next two weeks, when we announce a total victory".

U.S. Vice President JD Vance also addressed the issue of the emerging agreement with Iran this morning in an interview with Fox. Vance stressed that while Jerusalem and Washington share many common interests, that does not mean the two countries’ positions fully overlap.

In his words, "It’s clear that Israel and the U.S. have a lot of shared interests, but there are also situations where our interests are not identical. Israel may like it and Israel may not, but ultimately we believe it serves the interests of the U.S.".

The latest remarks come after, at the start of the escalation, following launches from Iran toward Israel, Trump said he intended to speak with Netanyahu and ask him not to respond militarily. In practice, however, Israel launched its strike in Iran on Monday morning. The decision was made after a conversation between Trump and Netanyahu and in full coordination with the American administration.

According to reports, the operation was defined as a powerful but time-limited strike that lasted only a few hours. Now, after the escalation subsided in less than a day, the White House continues to assess that a possible agreement with Iran may be nearing a decision in the coming days.
