IDF Reserve Soldier Alexander Filin Killed in Southern Lebanon
Sgt. First Class (res.) Alexander Filin, 29, of Haifa, a soldier in the 36th Division headquarters, was killed in combat in southern Lebanon. Seven additional soldiers were wounded, from light to moderate, including the division’s deputy commander. The force was hit by an explosive device detonated by Hezbollah terrorists during IDF operations in the Litani area. In a separate incident, five soldiers were wounded.

The fallen soldier: Sgt. First Class (res.) Alexander Filin, 29, of Haifa, a soldier in the 36th Division headquarters, was killed in combat in southern Lebanon. May Hashem avenge his blood.
In the incident in which Sgt. First Class (res.) Filin fell, a combat officer, a reserve combat officer, and another reserve soldier were moderately wounded. In addition, a noncommissioned combat soldier, two reserve soldiers, and a female reserve soldier were lightly wounded. The soldiers were evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment, and their families were notified.
The initial inquiry into the incident shows that yesterday, at around 5:00 p.m., an explosive device was detonated against an infantry force from the command post of the deputy commander of the 36th Division and the Givati Brigade, which was operating in the area of the village of a-Taybeh in Lebanon.
As a result of the blast, Sgt. First Class Filin, 29, of Haifa, was killed. Seven additional soldiers were wounded, including the deputy commander of the 36th Division (a colonel) and a reserve battalion commander (a lieutenant colonel), and four others were lightly wounded, including a female reserve soldier.
Earlier that same day, another incident took place in the same sector, when two explosive drones attacked an IDF force engaged in operational activity. The drones struck the IDF force as well as the rescue team that arrived at the scene to provide assistance. As a result of that attack, five soldiers were wounded, including one soldier who was seriously wounded, while the others were wounded moderately and lightly.
