Trump: I Prefer a Deal, but Either Iran Closes It or We Finish the Mission

U.S. President Donald Trump spoke with reporters on Monday. Reuters reported that Trump addressed the ongoing negotiations with Iran and emphasized: “Either Iran closes a deal, or we finish the mission, and it will not be hard to finish the job there. But I prefer a deal.”

The American president added: “I am not looking to carry out regime change. I want us to hold the enriched uranium. The Iranians must not have nuclear weapons.”

Addressing activity in the Strait of Hormuz and Iranian threats to close the strait again, Trump said: “The Iranians know I can make all their power stations disappear by this afternoon. Without the Iranians knowing, we got so much oil out of Hormuz and lifted the curfew. Before the war, nobody had heard of the Strait of Hormuz, but it is a big money machine.”

Meanwhile, Arab media reported that talks between Iran, which is preoccupied this week with the funeral of Ali Khamenei, and the United States may resume after the 18th of the month. However, the Iranians have not yet made a decision and continue to issue threats.

During one of the ceremonies held in Iran on Monday, Iranian military spokesman Mohammad Akrami said: “We are at full readiness. We used the ceasefire to improve our combat capabilities.”
