The remarks were made at a joint press conference held in the Egyptian city of El Alamein. The meeting was attended by Qatar’s prime minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, who also serves as his country’s foreign minister, and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty.
Egypt and Qatar claim that "Israel is violating the understandings on the ground and thwarting the implementation of the roadmap for a full settlement in Gaza." The demand was directed at the U.S. administration, asking it to "use its full weight and exert effective pressure on Israel to implement the full commitments".
Meanwhile, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey jointly condemned the strikes carried out by Israel this week against Hamas terrorists in Gaza, expressing "deep concern over the ongoing violations." The three countries, which the United States regards as mediators in Gaza, argued that "the escalation of Israeli strikes harms regional and international efforts at a critical juncture, as intensive efforts are underway to implement the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza."
