“Palestine Is Not a State or a Nation. So What Is It?” The ‘Green Prince’ Responds to Critics
Mosab Hassan Yousef, son of a Hamas founder, took the stage to explain exactly what lies behind the term “Palestine” (“Its lifespan was 25 years”). His answer left the audience speechless.
Mosab Hassan Yousef, the Green PrinceAn inspiring speech by Mosab Hassan Yousef, known as the “Green Prince,” made the rounds on social media over the weekend. Yousef, the son of a founder of the Hamas terrorist organization, presented a firm position on the identity and historical deception behind the term “Palestine.”
“I’ll begin by answering what Palestine is and what Palestine is not,” Yousef said as he opened his remarks at a conference on the subject, immediately making his position clear: “Palestine was never a state. Palestine is not a nation. Palestine is not an ethnic origin. Palestine is a colonial term created by the British, and Palestine’s lifespan was less than 30 years; it was exactly 25 years. It was the British Mandate of Palestine, not Palestine as a territory.”
He went on to reveal what he described as the motivations behind the use of this term by various groups: “A few political gangs led by Yasser Arafat, criminals, con artists, used the term only to create hostility toward a legitimate state: Israel.”
He further emphasized that the Jewish people stand firm against attempts to destroy them. “This is a state that existed before history, that has faith, that has a language, whose people have withstood a series of many attempts at cleansing, and they survived. The most resilient nation on earth, and in fact the nation that has contributed to humanity more than any other nation.”
At the end of the speech, he stressed what he described as the true goal behind the Palestinian narrative: “What is called Palestine wants to replace Israel. It depends entirely on the destruction of Israel. It is a very broad term, and many criminals have used it—criminals who used children as part of their revolution, a very corrupt revolution. It adopted the name Palestine, and now I see many gangs around the world that have adopted it. So Palestine is non-existent. It is that simple.”
