North Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Visits the Western Wall, Praises Jerusalem’s Global Significance

During his first official visit to Israel since taking office, North Macedonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timčo Mucunski, arrived today (Tuesday) for a visit and prayer at the Western Wall.

He was welcomed by Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, Rabbi of the Western Wall and the Holy Sites, who explained the history of the Western Wall and its importance to the Jewish people throughout the generations. He also thanked him for his support for the State of Israel and the Jewish people, and for the close cooperation between the two countries in a range of areas.

The Rabbi of the Western Wall and the foreign minister recited a special prayer together for peace between the countries and for continued friendship between their peoples. The minister then placed a personal note between the stones of the Wall and toured the new “Gate of Heaven” exhibition, recently opened to visitors at the Western Wall and the Western Wall Tunnels sites.

At the conclusion of the visit, North Macedonia’s foreign minister signed the visitors’ book: “It is a great honor to be at the Western Wall. The significance of the city of Jerusalem for world civilization is of immense importance. Together with you, I pray for the peace and prosperity of all our peoples.”
