More than 5.2 million Israeli flags are being displayed around the world as part of a campaign marking the third anniversary of the October 7 massacre.
The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews said 4,375 churches, synagogues, universities and other organizations in 14 countries are participating in this year's "Flags of Fellowship" campaign.
Participants are displaying Israeli flags and holding prayer services, community gatherings and other events in support of Israel and the Jewish people. Most events are taking place between October 2 and 11, although activities will continue throughout the month.
Participation has more than doubled since last year's campaign, when around 1,300 organizations took part. The initiative began in 2024 with just over 220 participating organizations.
The campaign has also expanded significantly outside the United States and Canada. More than 1,775 churches and organizations in 12 other countries are participating this year, including groups in Australia, England, Kenya, South Africa, India and the United Arab Emirates.
Ten major evangelical churches across the United States are serving as flagship locations for the campaign. Some are also hosting October 7 survivors and local officials at commemorative events.
Yael Eckstein, president and global CEO of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, said the initiative highlights solidarity between Christian and Jewish communities following the Hamas-led attack.
"While much attention has been given since October 7 to stories of division and hatred, a different story, one of friendship between Christians and Jews, is being written," Eckstein said.
The organization said it has provided $432 million in aid to Israel during the three years since the attack. The assistance has supported emergency response efforts, vulnerable populations and new immigrants.
As part of the Flags of Fellowship initiative, participating organizations plant fields of Israeli flags in memory of those murdered on October 7 and to express solidarity with Israel and Jewish communities around the world.
